Recess Camp Directors
Location - Texas Tornados (Cypress, TX)
Alison is from The Woodlands, TX and will be the camp Coordinator for RECESS here at the Texas Tornadoes Facility. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2010 with a degree in Kinesiology and Education. Alison started her career as a 5th grade Science teacher in Conroe ISD, loved every minute of it, but after three years she knew something was still missing. At the beginning of a new year she decided to make a big change, and that was to become the Physical Education teacher at the same school she taught Science at. Alison LOVED being a 5th and 6th grade P.E teacher. She knew her passion was to teach children to be active, whether it was by working out or by playing sports. After two years of teaching P.E. at the intermediate level, Alison was ready to pursue her biggest passion and that was coaching. She is currently a Physical Education teacher and Head Volleyball Coach at Irons Junior High in Conroe ISD. Along with coaching volleyball, she assists in basketball and track. Her favorite part of being a P.E. teacher at the junior high level is to show the students the many games they can play outside of school sports. Some of Alison’s favorite games include; pickleball, spikeball, tchoukball, kickball, and many more! She is very excited to be a part of RECESS and to help inspire staff and campers to grow their confidence, build new friendships, and have as much fun as possible.
